I have spent 100's of HRS on this thread. I have re-read & re-researched rules & regulations...even though I already knew the rules...I have made person<>person questions to ensure my information & understanding was triple-correct and I have TRIED to post this information as simply & navigable as I possibly can.
I have said...right from day one...the LNAH players are ineligible due to the FACT they played in a PRO league (after Jan. 10).
This has been the rule since 2004. Long before the 'Bous even had antlers.
I will not argue in a vacuum with someone just because that person sucks.
I'm looking back at this topic, with the work I put in over at the nlhockeytalk.ca board added in and I'm not seeing any reason for confusion or questioning of what I have said...other than...ignorant & child-minded denial of reality.
Had the 'Bous never attempted to sign these 2 players...they could have signed other players onto those allotments prior to Feb deadline.
As it is...they've got a roster featuring top players from all over Newfoundland & several other parts of Canada.
Injuries & other commitments can & do affect ALL SR AAA teams.
As soon as I can get to it...I will post a new thread with the 2015 AC field examined & analyzed as best I can.
I won't be discussing ANYTHING with "Ricky from Trailer Park Boys".

Why do you think that a team from the Atlantic (NL)is playing in the Allan Cup . Well they were invited to play because the Allan Cup is losing fans and teams. With the draft that is in place in NL a team cannot stack its lineup to build up for the Allan cup run like other teams ..We have a competitive league here not like the league that Bentley plays in , I think that they may have only loss one or two game all of this season and playoffs , yah nice league they have there ,why do you think that they have a team playing for the Allan cup every year ,they buy a team each year now tell me that they don`t build their team at the start on the season and also can pick up players when ever and also from where ever they can ,, do you guys have a draft in place ? do Bentley have a draft in place , can you go out and sign players anywhere at any time . No team in NL can do that This is one of the reasons that you will not see another team from NL at the Allan cup again and only for Clarenville hosting this year they would not have been there last year or this year and you can forget about the Cataracts , this is the last you will hear of them ...Any way I am looking for some good hockey and I hope my team wins but it will be hard playing against stacked teams with players from another country There is so much stupid in here, I do not know where to start. OK... the Nfld teams were asked to play in order to save the Allan Cup? Sheer idiocy. They are invited, like any other r. AAA registered franchise...they are hosting because the hosting duties rotate through each region on a yearly basis. that you do not know this is mind-boggling. your draft HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING...you folks need to stop trotting out this same old tired canard. that is an internal league function at the start of each year. What you seem so at ease to forget is that the Nfld teams at the AC are the only members of your league to declare AAA, so EVERY YEAR you raid the other member teams in your league and bring 6-8 all-star with you who are NOT part of your team throughout the year...this is an enormous advantage that only Nfld teams seem to be allowed...it is nonsensical and unfair. The other thing is you have weaseld a concession out of Hockey Canada whereby your AC rep is known a year ahead of time (presumably because AC qualifying interferes with your league payoffs...except...whoops, why are both NL teams sitting idle for the last month?)and can unfairly stack its rosters with ringers who already know they are guaranteed a spot. it is bullshit. nice league Bentley plays in? what, you mean one of only 2 in Canada that actually play under full AAA designation? STFU, troll. YOU are crying about Bentley, or other teams picking up players can you even spell irony? and wait a minute...the Nfld PRO league is accusing Bentley of 'buying' players? you must be a troll..it is impossible for someone to be as stupid as you have just made yourself appear. But by all mean, keep complaining about OTHER teams picking up players for the Allan Cup...and contnue to look like you lick windows for a living.

I get why alt of people from other teams have an issue with the "NL RULES" as some people put it. These are rules that were set by Hockey Canada...as most people know...we are following them. As for our playoffs...this was not the main reason for declaring a year early...but more to do with travel cost getting off the Island....yes Clarenville are hosting this years so that part is out the window for this years edition on the Allan Cup....But this is the first time Newfoundland has hosted the Allan Cup. Every year a Newfoundland Rep would Have to come up with about 40-50K extra to travel to an Allan cup...most of the time the Allan Cup is in the Central Part of Canada..and a lot of teams will Busto the Tournament.... I know the year we went to Lloydminster...I believe we were the only team who needed a shuttle to and from the Arena, As all the other teams had there own buses...I know Kenora Bussed there from Ontario.
I'm not trying to make excuses...as this is like trying to beat a dead horse....I think we all need to agreed to disagree and move on and enjoy the 2015 Allan Cup.

You guys are painting a picture that Newfoundland are the bad ones here ,they are playing by the rules .I am telling it like it is , I do not think that there will be a team from NL there next year . That is not complaining because it is the best senior hockey around and I would like to keep on seeing it but not at the expensive of losing what we have and i think this may have happened to Clarenville Also not complaining about the pick up of other teams if the rules are followed by all teams there is nothing to complain about just fighting back . Yes the bous made a mistake by trying to pick up 2 players from Quebec but that is now ok and I agree with what happened , did not want to see them join the bous .. Without imports or pickups no team in NL will be able to compete against mainland teams . I think that it is hard enough to raise funds to operate a team for a season let alone find funds to send a team across Canada .. Only so much you can expect of the sponsors.. You enjoy your league and I hope that we will enjoy our league for years to come.. I also think that we have done very well for a town with a population of around 6000 not easy to operate on that . O forgot now I am complaining about out population.... JMO.....

It's good to see that things have tamed down quite a bit. The argument is like beating a dead horse. Dundas, Bentley, etc., based on both sheer population and having several major junior and Tier II teams, have the ability to obtain quality players from the onset much easier. The Newfoundland teams, because of the AAA/AA status, have the ability to pick up quality players for the sole purpose of the Allan Cup. Obviously the NL fans are going to complain about the resources at Bentley and Dundas's disposal, and the fans from Dundas and Bentley, who bring their teams from the season, are going to be upset with the special rules allowing the Newfoundland teams to strengthen before the tournament and to know a year in advance what team is coming. The rules are what they are, and what they have been for quite a while. They're far from perfect, but there's no sense in complaining about them this late in the fold. Other than Clarenville's attempt to sign the Quebec players, this year is no different, save for having 2 NL entries. We've had a different winner every year since 2010 in tournaments that were all relatively competitive. Let's move on and see what this year's version has in store for us. I have no doubt that Clarenville hosts a great week!
Cheers

So, people do understand that generally speaking, Dundas and Bentley do not pay players...the NL teams fly guys in and pay up to a grand a week...so.....suck it.
