I ask this question Wade... as i'm not sure of the anwser....But when Clarenville went to the AC the first year....was there the same arguement then... as it is now?..... or is it just because they won...Again it's just a question, as i am new to this site...and the AC. liaonsden.....with the tone of your question, I'm not sure why I or anyone else is bothering to reply any further. I think it is great that you have joined in as a new poster and I absolutely do not wish to sound condescending. I think a lot of information, time and thought has been offered to you on this subject by various people. You don't need to agree with it, but asking that question which is really just another version of what has already be asked and or suggested, leads me to believe that you really do not deserve more of peoples time, mine anyway. This is only a suggestion, which I am assuming you have not done to date. If you would have taken the time as a new member, to first go back and familiarize yourself with past threads on this form, then you would probably have gained some valuable insight, and you would understand why I think the tone of your question on this particular subject is misguided and smacking of shit disturbing. Not to late to do some homework, if you choose. Sincerely, munzie Jesus Christ munzie...a little over the top don't you think??!!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the question lionsden asked.

Yes naitch, I understand your reaction and I do think I was a little over the top. I did mean it when I said I didn't intend to be condescending, but maybe I did not do a very good job. I'll try it another way. Wade and some others have provided a lot of thought and information on this particular subject. I personally appreciate it and have learned some things from it. Some of it has been new, and as wade has said several times, a lot of it he has said before. Wade doesn't need my support, but he and others have offered lots and made it very clear there is no hidden agenda or regional dislike for anyone, (in this case Newfoundland and the Atlantic Region.) It's been clear that he and those others who feel the way they do, feel that way about whatever region it might be. How many times does wade have to say it??? So when the latest question asked if he was perhaps just motivated because Clarenville won last year, I thought it was an unnecessary show of appreciation for all that's been given. It's quite clear to me that wade has not just been "repeating' himself to hear is own voice. He was trying to accommodate some folks who claim to be new at it. I do believe it's a good idea to do some reading of past posts, especially if you are new. I still do it and sometimes go back a fair ways. Finally, IMO this form has improved tremendously in recent times. Can't say that I didn't enjoy some of the past shenanigans, but it was getting a little ridiculous, more the rule than the exception. So if my post that you responded to was not conducive to the new quality, then I should and do apologize.

thanks munzie....i too thought it was a little over the top.. but i do understand why.... and as i said before.... i agree about all rules being the same for everyone....but thats not the choice of the Cataracts.. it may very well be HNL idea... or Hockey Canada's idea...but it's not fair for Wade to say that " these are the rules the NEWFIES folllow"....Again i understand his fight and commend him for it....and if i was a voting member of hockey canada... i too would agree that all rules applied would be the same for every region.

Dude, those ARE the rules the Newfies follow. The Newfies have a special rule. Nobody else has it but the Newfies. Not unlike the half hour time change. And the rubber boots when its not even raining. And the "Tumm Wrench". And the morning you saw 3 "Meese" on the way to work. Its all relative. Or not?

Just pushing buttons.
I habitually refer to all maritimers as "Newfies" and normally the only people who get offended are from PEI or New Brunswick.
Any-Hoo...
This discussion has worn itself out (again).
And I have no reason to be worried about the Newfies taking any titles from the Generals.
Because we've got to worry about taking care of business in Alberta & the PAC Region before looking any further ahead.
And its looking like this will be a much tougher Alberta Playoffs than the last two.

Wade...your a knowledgeable guy-no doubt-when it comes to Senior Hockey & you are definitely an asset to this board. We all know how passionate you are about Senior Hockey in Canada. However, your above post is sad and i'm surprised you even took the time to type what you did. Your argument is simple & logical...& i could not agree with you more....the rules should be the same for everyone-within reason.

wade, how many penalty min. does peter vandermeer have , how many fight's as well "Pistol Pete" isn't here to sit in the penalty box. He's a hard battling, proud serving soldier of the Bentley Generals and his focus is helping The Army win hockey games.

wade, how many penalty min. does peter vandermeer have , how many fight's as well The answer is a little simpler than Wade has so eloquently dodged. Pete Vandermeer has 10 minutes of penalties in 9 games with no fights but has been adding points at the pace of 1 per game, 5 goals 4 assists. Not a position he was used to playing or was asked to play in his 14 or so years in the NHL, AHL, ECHL and UHL. With the new 1 fight rule and extra game misconduct if the fight is in the last 10 minutes of the game, for Senior hockey, there has been quite a change in game strategies. Make no doubt about it, he still makes his presence known and felt on the ice, just not quite in the same way as when he was paid to drop the gloves. I'm sure when the time or times are called for, he won't have forgotten how to drop the mitts.

the 'new' fighting rule sin SR hockey flat out suck...they have chang3d the entire fabric of the game...and not at all in a good way.
Yes, by all means,,leave the games totally in the hands of the officials or the commissioners...fuck that.
Teams and players no longer look out for one and other...they complain tot he f=refs and whine to the league office to meet out supplemental discipline.
it is an embarrassment.
