Prpic and Leggat to SC...hmmm...what is the common denominator there?
If the Blast return next season, are these players allowed to go back?

well the Ontario talent pool certainly isnt a problem...there will be 4 very good teams...good enough to win the Cup, if I am not mistaken?
And for how long did ACW exist with just 4 teams, Wade? Only ONE of which was ever good enough to win it?

localized tournaments or playdowns to determine an East v West championship series...like in the good old days...would be great...and I do think it is gaining some traction.

LNAH is good and entertaining hockey...but as far from 'amateur' as you can get.

Sounds like Whitby are on shaky financial footing. That's unfortunate news, but the league would survive just fine, especially if they bring back Thorold, as travel now becomes very player-friendly, with all teams located within an hour of each other.

I wouldn't maybe go that far, but they were certainly full value for the win.

I agree Don...the 2 league champs competing in the Final brought a smile to my face, as well.
Wade, I agree in how penalties affected the game...but it affected both teams, IMO...1st P the western champs were chasing the play and took a bunch of lazy/tired penalties...maybe a bit of rust...2nd P fatigue kicked in a bit and SC were chasing the play, and took a slew of bad penalties. 3rd period was more even up, and pretty fast. I think Lacombe tried, and failed, to maybe be the Bully....SC were the faster team and not too bothered by it. Oodles if talent both ways and a very entertaining Final.
I think the Final game MVP could have been SC goaltender Brown...2 identical saves on clean breakaways where he made the same move, dragging the back foot to shutdown the 5 hole attempt. I think the Donati Twins were the catalyst that drove the SC offense...so slick.

Brantford have a great facility with which to host...however, their attendance numbers are heavily papered with free tickets and promotional giveaways. I would love to see Whitby get a chance to host, as well as Stoney Creek...hoerver I understand the rink issues in both towns.
Dundas did a fantastic job last time...Grightmire is the 2nd best Sr rink in the area (behind shade st, of course!).
ON certainly dessrves one last chance to host the tourney after Lacombe...then I am all for the oft-discussed format change.

Seems to me the Ontario Generals were the class of the tournament...as predicted...they also beat the 2 hardest 'outs' in SEPT and Lacombe to get there.
Nice to see ON represent us well...finally.
I think this also puts to bed which league is stronger...Lacombe basically own a 1 horse league...ACH has 4 legit contenders every year. The Western Generals basically get a free pass to the AC every year.
Oh well, at least Wade can say the Generals still won!!!

I have heard from several sources the rink out there is a dump...not to mention located near absolutely no amenities?

Wade are you trying to say the AB rep has never lost after winning their league, in AC qualifying? Because that would be false.
Just as our league rep has lost to HNO on occassion, the BC rep has taken down your league champ...and honestly, when was the last time the ACHW rep even had to go the Mac Cup route?

SC best players this year are their best players from last year snd 2016, mostly...the difference is thry have the depth to compete....IE they have their full roster.
It has been very frustrating the last 5 or 6 years watching ON teams show up with skeleton crews and get summarily dismissed from the AC tourney.
This SC team is talented, deep, big and fast. That was a huge statement win over SEPT.They certainly had the tougher semi-final of the 2 armies.
Hoping for a great game tonight.
