Not sure how that works but it's basically a tournament team that plays a bunch of 1 day tournaments. Matt Foy, Charlie Stephens and Cam Sault plus possibly more played last year in at least the season ending tournament. Not sure if they played more then that since I've only watched the video of the final game of the season. But apparently EX NHLer Jason Williams that has played 455 NHL Games and won a cup with Detroit has joined the Blast for this Season, He also Plays on the London 3's

An advertisement for this league keeps popping up on my facebook and I kept scrolling past until I saw a familiar face today on the picture, Charlie Stephens of the Blast is playing on the london team. After a little more digging into the rosters I found there are quite a few ACH players playing in these tournaments all through the year, London has at least 3 from the ACH and the Hamillton team has 9 From or who have played in the ACH, Might be worth the drive down to London to watch tickets are 15 bucks. 3hltour.com/teams/

I'm a fan Jim because it show cases the best players, we always won with short benches and this might come back to bite me Don Robertson Don , first and foremost i want to say , youre the best and have a lot of respect and admiration for you and what youve done for senior hockey , but allow me to call you out here. We always won with short benches? Dont you remember one of the best senior teams in recent memory? It was your last allan cup win , tournament roster. When you had a shorter bench without as much depth, in the playoffs against brantford you lost 4 out of 6 games if memory serves me right , brantford was certainly one of the best teams in canada that year mind you. Ive seen you get beat up pretty bad with short benches against the best teams. You guys rolled 4 lines that allan cup and the guys played like they were completely gassed in the final and clarenville was gassed too. Guys like Foreman , Delueew and Stayzer were the players who kept me and other fans coming out to see you guys every week , they were the most exciting players to watch. When Cristie rocked that guy from norwich with a great clean open ice hit and another guy from norwich immidiately went after christie and fought him who did the tap on the shoulder to go out next? Yes i bet you remember and that line lit up norwich, stupid decision by the norwich player going going after your captain like that. if you had 3 lines and had more commitment from guys like rowe and others , those players would have been healthy scratches, like white and others who were not in the tournament roster. Remember the open ice hits Delueew dished out that season , incredible stuff. In my opinion having a shorter bench than other teams has put you guys at a disadvantage the last couple seasons , i guess this may even up the playing field for dundas if other teams like stoney creek cant roll 4 lines against you. Dont think its a positive thing for the league. I'm pretty sure you mean Norwood since There wasn't a Norwich in the league and everyone beat up on them not just that one line they won 2 games that year allowing 214 goals against. compared to Dundas with 78 GA and Brantford and Whitby with 80 GA

Those depth guys will still be signed by the team they just won't be able to dress and sit on the bench in games where the whole team shows up. Might cause a few of those guys to sign elsewhere in other leagues where they can get a little more ice time though.

I don't think it's going to have as much impact on the game as you'd think. Most teams other then maybe stoney creek run a 3 line team for the most part anyways especially when there star players are there. I think what this is going to eliminate is the 4th line goons that play a few shifts a game and inevitably end up suspended for the season. In reality I think the star players are gonna play the exact same as they did before. if a team needed them on the ice they were on the ice already, My opinion is it's gonna take those few extra minutes played by 4th liners and that will end up getting spread out over the second and third lines.
My opinion is games where a teams good players are all at the games it won't effect anything, games where stars are missing and you've now got your 4th-12th best forwards on the ice is where you'll see teams struggle with players. But really thats no different then any other year.

Some interesting news today out of the Allan Cup hockey Ontario pointstreak page. I'll let you read it for yourself but it's a break down of how thorolds players have been split up throughout the league after there exit late in the summer. Also interesting to note the ontario league is putting suggestions forward to the OHA and OHF to assist them when talking to a new National Allan Cup Competition Committee. Looking forward to hearing more about this committee in the future and what impact it will have on the tournament itself. Last point is the league is going down to a 17 man roster this year so bye bye 4th line. 9 forwards 6 defensemen and 2 goalies will most likely be format for a lot of teams, or 10 and 5. allancup.pointstreaksites.com/view/allancup/allan-cup-hockey-news/news_492954

Thorold is no loss...they were awful and created an unnecessary glut of teams too close together. What you just described is Hamilton to a T. Thorold at least had a decent season last year finishing third in the league unlike the steelhawks who have 8 wins in the last 2 seasons combined and sit directly between Stoney Creek and Dundas Geographically.

Prpic and Stephens were definitely there for Game #2 and Leggat had a prior planned event that was scheduled months in advance.

how about that head check on Dustin Alcock? Nasty. Yes it looked nasty and hopefully he's ok. But from my vantage point it actually looked like a collision and Harvey didn't intentionally hit him in the head. I think that is why he only got the one game automatic suspension for the high hit. Harvey got 2 games GM71 Major for Head Contact

The goal everyone thought was offside definitely wasn't at least from my vantage point. Put got shot up the boards hit the lineman outside the zone and bounced back in. Prpic skated back circled the blue line then touched the puck. The icing on the other hand def was icing the lineman in that end waived it off after Rebernik already had the puck and Mole was just standing there. That was a very interesting game to watch but the REFS were the biggest Joke, to call that much during the game and then no penalties in OT where I think the game actually got chippier is pretty bad. Pretty entertaining watching Don Robertson Wave a stick at an idiot fan as well, at least the linesman talked him down before he smacked him in the head.

Svendin has looked much better this year then he did last year in my opinion except for his game this past weekend. So far his stats are better then Brown's. Brown hasn't played in 2 months so he's got to be out with an injury or maybe playing elsewhere by now. Not sticking up for Sved or being critical of you Andrew and don't know if you saw Sved's game this past weekend, but IMO Whitby's goals were pretty good quality with 2 o3 high lighter's including the o.t. winner which was a true beauty, as good as your going to see. As an aside and speaking of back-up goalies, Whitby went with their back-up in in both games on the weekend. I don't think starter Jason Guy was even dressed for either game. I didn't see his play this past weekend so was only going based on the boxscore. Svedin looked really good in the 3-1 loss to Brantford on Jan 27th but got outshawn by Leggats 52 save night where at least 10 saves he had no business stopping and still did.
