Don't want to get too far ahead, but the McCoys defensive additions have certainly given the team a new look. They're up 3 games to 0 against easily the strongest team in Ontario.
Whitby has outclassed Dundas all season, including some horrific 9-4 and 11-2 blowouts (albeit against small Dundas' benches in both games).
Either way, Whitby won those games by overpowering the McCoys physically. This is not the 2014 behemoth Dundas team. Much smaller version.....
Until recently that is - the additions of Duncan Dalmao, Derek Matheson and Jake Guindon on defence give the McCoys a similar look to last season in that all 3 defenseman are 6'2 to 6'3". The big, strong D that has been missing throughout the season.
Add to that the fact that twice I had to take a double take to realize that #4 Dalmao was NOT the highly skilled Nick Smith (who had worn #4 for Dundas for much of the last decade)...Dalmao made a couple of end to end rushes that were reminiscent of Smith. Matheson is similarly skilled. (Note: Matheson is incorrectly listed on Pointstreak as a forward). He made some great rushes and provides much needed veteran defensive leadership.
Not sure that I have seen such high "offensive" skill on the McCoys D in over a decade - I would have to go back to the Kelly Reed days...and even better that both new D look to have that type of skill.
Again, Whitby is strong and can certainly come back from 3 games down...but look out, Donnie just may have pulled another rabbit (or two)!!

Yep nice to see. It sure was a long season. Dundas was not very competitive in many games. Crowds were down I noticed as a result.
Guess it's expected the year after winning it all.
Hopefully if they win, the crowds increase as it will be against a local team-Stoney Creek or Brantford.

Don't forget Mole. BEST Senior goalie in Canada. Helps to have a big defence core but means nothing without a tender.

Without actually looking at Mike Moles' stats...I still feel confident suggesting Dustin Butlers' CHL season stats make "guest" re-think his proclamation.

Wade all u need to do is look at last year's Allan cup. Mole had a 1.66 GAA against the best teams in the country. Almost single-handedly won the cup.
And u have to compare apples to apples. Those stats you posted are from a league where the same team has only lost 1, 3 and 4 games in ttl the last 4 years. Hardly a competitive league. Why bother having a league that one team wins 90 percent of all games.
Just sayin''

I wouldn't consider a 1.66GAA to be overly impressive out of a 4 game window. If you really want to have your eyes popped out of your skull...look at the stat line on the top goalie from the 2013 tournament.
Also...The Chinook League is actually better than the ACH League. Top to bottom.

Certainly brings into ones credibility in commenting on such things. I'm sure the Chinook League is absolutely outstanding and the ACH League at worst is second best in the Nation I say that because ther are only 2 Sr. AAA Leagues in Canada. regards Don Robertson

There are only 2 SR AAA leagues in Canada...but...there are still plenty of SR A Leauges and some of the teams from some of those leagues have better teams than what some of the ACH teams iced earlier in the season.
Ontario SR. fans are absurd if they think a weighted schedule in a 4 team league is something we should take MORE serious than the CHL...where it's true...yes...one team has dominated the top of the league...but...at least the entire league plays the top team the same amount of games.
Any-Hoo...Mike Mole is a good goalie. He had a great Allan Cup.
And it's fine to have a high opinion of him.
But...if "Guest"...or anyone else...are honestly going to try and annoint him as "The Best Goalie in Canada"...I'm going to have to question it. Extensively.

I'd also submit...CWSHL is a SR AAA League. Whether they want that distinction or not. Two of those teams are going to be in AC2015. That's a "AAA" league AFAIC.
Tough to say which of these 3 leagues is "the best" or "the worst".
They're relativity close in comparison, to be honest. But only the Chinook League has 4 fully operational AAA teams playing a balanced Skeddy.

Stop backtracking Wade. You first said that the Chinook League was best top to bottom. When called on it you say it's the "skeddy". What the hell does the schedule have to do with anything. It actually strengthens the McCoys case as they played Brantford 10 times which means they only played cellar dwelling Norwood 4 times

You beat me to it. Because we travel 30 minutes down the 403 rather than travel 3+ hours to Norwood makes the Alberta league better? Ok
Good thing the NHL plays a balanced sched eh. Oh wait they don't either. Chinook League must be better than the NHL

Huh?
Mike Mole was the WORST goaltender in the league this year.

The Chinook League plays an honest schedule.
The ACH doesn't.
League to league comparisons don't really matter for the purpose of this particular debate because now we're looking at stats showing Mike Mole was actually a total failure during this regular season.
He had a great tournament last spring.
That's a long time ago now. And even if it was last week...it's not enough to make him "The Best Goalie in Canada".
That's an Ontarioism.
This league has had very little Allan Cup success the past several years.
One team wins One Allan Cup...and some of you kids start making brash, blanket proclamations...without really even looking objectively at ANY facts behind ONE result from ONE tournament. Makes you look silly when you do that.
