I am seeing a trend here...78 pts in 97 ECHL games is a point-per-game player...well then sure, given your 'western' math, he sure is the best player in the history of Wade's imagination.

So...I guess what I'm trying to show here...is that I am NOT just barking at a shadow when I say I DO have what I feel is "study time" invested into my sometimes harsh or controversial opinions. I've been in SR hockey rinks all over Canada. I've done 1000's of hours on the trail...watching & tracking SR teams & players. I KNOW there is nothing as accurate or tangible as being there to see "the player" up close & live. But...come on...The ACH has a list full of top scorers who...based on what I research...wouldn't be the level of player Id be signing if I wanted to try and stop the Bentley Generals from going 23-1. So does Bently have an entirely new roster this year? Because they were the least talented of the 6 teams in Dundas last year...an entire roster of 4th line choppers. LOL a plug in the ECHL is still a plug 5 yrs later in Sr hockey!

Of course I disagree with your assessment of the team Bentley sent to Dundas, Jim. Not really worth trying to change it though.
The Army wasn't happy with how they performed and...Ya...you can bet the whole bottle they've been working very hard to make sure they're better this time around.

I am not arguing which league is better...because honestly, I have no idea. I do know you are selling ACH intentionally short because if your (understandable) bias towards the Gennies. If the Gennies are far and away the class of that league, then I do not see how it can be so much better than ACH, when 2 ACH teams proved last year they were, on average, as good or better than Bentley. Add SC who are MUCH improved this year, that makes 3 good teams...and Whitby are probably a tad stronger...so that makes 4 teams who could all win the league, and all give the Gennies a better series than they are going to get out West. Not that it matters at the AC, because Bentley and one of Dundas/Bfd or Kenora will be the last man standing . Where am I selling the ACH short, Jim? Who is the best player in that league right now?

www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=97867Here is a similar scenario played out in the ACH...except that..Cam Watson...with 3 pro games to his resume...is a top scorer in the ACH. Dundas dropped him during the AC drive...but...the rest of the ACH was on it like flies on horse shit and Cam Watson ended up as a big time All Star in the ACH. Perennially! Dundas dropped Cam Watson at what point in what season? now you really are just ranting like a loon. He wore the A last year, and I think he wears a different letter this year. but yeah...he sucks...hardly contributed at all in the AC last year, playing on the second line... Minad. I had Watson mixed up with TJ Sakuluk. www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=97334

And I'm not saying these guys "suck", Jim. Not at all.
I'm saying...they're good players...but...the CHL can easily roll out just as many...or more.
There are a couple people on this board who do make a concerted point of actually being up to speed on what other teams, outside of Ontario, look like. For the most part...I think it's safe to say this is all new info for guys like YOU, Jim.
You clearly assume Bentley is "curbstomping" a bunch of JR C flunkies.

Holy crap-stop posting every 5 minutes wade. None of those posts mean a damn thing. Over the years there are so many players with MUCH bigger NHL and pro reasumes that play in Ontario than Alberta.
What matters - and it waas asked already -
Would Bentley go 24-0 or 23-1 if they played in Ontario
YOU KNOW IT AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT -AGAIN NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.

Joel Prpic is the best resume in Ontario. And he's a damn fine player. One of the best in Canada. Maybe he's the answer to my question. I suspect he is. Bentley wouldn't go 23-1 playing the ACH's weighted schedule...not if they were playing a full Dundas roster 9 times/year. Probably not if they were playing Brantford this often, either. But they would crush teams like Whitby & Stony Creek any day of the week, IMO. And neither Dundas or Brantford would go 23-1 in the CHL. Not with the kind of patchwork rosters they run most of the winter. Those kinds of seasons are tough to pull off. Tougher than most realize. It takes extremely deep skill & even more commitment. And luck.

Absorb those morsels of math a moment.

I think....the fact Bentley went 34-1 leading up to Allan Cup 2014...and ended up going 1-3 left a lot of people scratching their heads. Myself included.
The thing we have to always remember is...the tournament itself is a very different challenge than any regular season.
Some teams are going to be far better than what they showed in a regular season...while others are sometimes going to take a step back.
It's not always a terrific barometer for the competition a team faced in getting to the Allan Cup.
Case in point: One of the worst SR AAA teams I've seen in a very long time playing Mac Cup 2014...nearly beat The Gens.
Once.
And about 2 weeks later...The Gens were getting beat by everyone they played. It was a strong field in Dundas...but...The Gens let the CHL down a little bit...by dominating the league all winter and then failing to find answers in Dundas. It's really the first time that's ever happened. Just a year Prior they followed through. I think the next couple weeks will tell a lot as to how much they've done to make sure it doesn't go down the way it did in Dundas.

Wade- I can't say which league is better having only saw Bentley in the past 2 southern Ontario Allan Cups. It's true Ontario teams are much stronger in local AC years.
I'm not sure if what the reason is why Ontario can't get more top notch players in non AC years but you can bet there's a lot more gems in Southern Ontario than anywhere else.
First off, Healy played on the most dominate line in the 2008 AC along with Rice and Spurr. That line was absolutely dominant every game of that tournament.
Second- you've got the wrong Ruberto. Matt is a dman and Mike's twin brother. Figure it out if you're going to try to prove a point.
Third- Watson has always been a key Dundas player. Yes, Sakaluk got dropped by Dundas but was picked up by Kenora. Check the stats, he had a solid tournament, so what does that tell you?
No one including you can base judgements on teams or players that you've never saw. Bottom line, Bently would be a strong ACH team but they would lose more than 1-2 games a season. If that speaks to the league caliber so be it. You can bet other teams would be up to the challenge to outdo them. I think that's the problem this year with all 4 ACH playoff teams in contention I think teams didn't go out and try to make up ground with more big time additions.
Medeiros had a solid season to be sure. I was a bit surprised but he did put up a ton of points in Jr C. It speaks volumes of how good his linemate Prpic is, he is an absolute force with a combination of size and skill. He can look like a man amongst boys sometimes.

So you're only off 21% from a 'point per game'...kinda like when you tell folks you're 6 ft tall...or have a grade 22 diploma

Another chess match tonight. Brantford eeks out a 10-5 win over Stony Freak.
Lots of parity.
