Don. Cherry. Of. Senior. Hockey.
I ranked: Clarenville, GFW, SEPT...in that order...FWIW.

GFW didn't bare down today. They missed an opportunity to gain the bye...but...they've got a top 5 as good as anything here and I expect they'll come out flying tomorrow.
SEPT is getting AT LEAST 5 more players before they play again and they're starting to show why The DCOSH picked them as a top seed before the tournament.

Tightly called game.
Bouncing pucks and near misses...especially for GFW...they fired wide on 4 excellent chances to bury goals.
GFW lacks size & crunch-ability...makes it tough to beat a scrappy team when your not punishing them anywhere.

I thought they let Clarenville really push the envelope on some of the hits they dished out. I also thought the hometown crowd did a good job pressuring Stripes to give them some excessive PP opportunities. The 5on3 they had was gifted, IMO.
It's tough...but...like I said before...your not taking this ship off the Rock if your not prepared to play right on through it .

I think...SEPT could get better as the week goes on. They have more players coming in...just not sure who & when. I do know that Dane Crowley is NOT coming for SEPT. I asked about him specifically and was told he won't be here this week.
I haven't seen GFW yet...but...I think they'll give SEPT a huge challenge here in about an hour.

Doesn't matter where they're from. The home team gets the calls. It's been that way since God was in diapers.
I really have no complaints because I fully expected to be this way.
I didn't come all the way across the country to worry about bullshit Reffing.
I'm here for The Allan Cup.

you would have loved the Dundas/Bentley game last year except the score! Haha. Honestly man...when you tough it out and WIN a game like that...it really makes me proud. I sometimes feel like I'm being CRUEL to EXPECT this stuff from The Army. It's hard. Very hard. But...fuck me runnin'...what a display.

One of the best games I've ever seen.
I was sure the committee had installed microphones on the boards to exaggerate the SOUND of the HITTING.
It was like...a tide...slamming into the coastal rock. Over. And over again.
The Army rose up against it...like Moses...the great Christian penalty killer that he was.

Tonite had a home slant to it.
Nothing criminal...but...just the typical kind of slight edge the home team typically gets.
You battle through it. Because that's just how it is, IMO.

They didn't have any trouble showing up last year.
And I have to think Dundas 2014 team wasn't working during the day & playing hockey at night. Were they? Honest question.
I think...the 28 man roster creates a very good POTENTIAL solution to the problems Dundas had today.
It obviously didn't help them today...but...it's possible (hopefully) this is an exception to the rule.

Stefanishion has apparently slimmed down & shown up in Clarenville with his scoring touch in tow.
2 G's and an assist tonight.

Sounds like Stefanishion was the best player on the ice in the opening period.

Dundas could still avoid quarter-finals.
Obviously they'll need to win tomorrow & get some help...but...the closeness of the final score today might help them out if that pool ends up with a tie in the standings.

Someone on the NFLD forum posted that Lapointe went into the crowd t engage a fan.
If that's the case...it will be his last game of the tournament.
